For cataract surgery, the consultation, biometry and surgical costs normally fall within the limits recognised by medical insurance companies. Refractive lens exchange procedures are not normally reimbursed by insurers. It is The Vision Practice policy to keep charges within the limits normally recognised by medical insurers for reimbursement. The exception to this is when premium intraocular lenses are used, including Natural lenses, Toric and ReSTOR Multifocal implants. These lenses do cost more than single focus lenses and the difference is often not reimbursed by medical insurers.
